Welcome

Hi and welcome to my website. My name is Robert Irvine and I am Head Professional at Douglas Park Golf Club. I arrived here in April 2009, having spent 6 years as Assistant Professional at Kilmacolm Golf Club where I completed my PGA Foundation Degree, graduating 2nd in the PGA Assistant of the Year Awards for the overall 3 year training period. Prior to entering the PGA I completed a BSc in Applied Sports Science at the University of Edinburgh, where I developed a keen interest in holistic teaching practices.

I feel that the technical side of golf can often be over taught with little or no regard for the physiological, psychological and biomechanical components of the game. In my teaching and custom fitting I like to ensure that the needs of the individual are fully catered for.

The website will be updated regularly with different coaching tips and principles – never fear though as you will still be able to access the previous months at any time!

Please browse the site and let me know what you think of it – please don't be shy! I look forward to hearing from you and to welcoming you to Douglas Park Golf Club and remember you don't need to be a member to visit! Happy Golfing!
